The goal of the Department of Ophthalmology, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine
Our goal is to produce research results that can lay the foundations for medical science and healthcare suited for the 21st century while functioning as a center for training ophthalmologists to be able to deal with almost all kinds of disorders of the eye.
In the clinical aspect, we aim to offer a high-standard medical treatment across the board, and thus, contribute to community healthcare as well as advanced medical care in ophthalmology incorporating the advances in other fields. In the research aspect, we aim to convey our research results to the world, such as the research on molecular genetics and clinical research on strabismus. Our most important goal is to train young doctors through conducting high-level clinical research.
