A University Hospital is expected to provide distinctive medical care. Top-level medical care in Asia is provided in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Service in our clinic. A corneal surgeon performs the cutting-edge cornea grafting procedure. Moreover, an ophthalmologist performs genetic testing for the inherited eye diseases and genetic counseling. Meanwhile, the role of the University Hospitals in community healthcare is becoming increasingly important. Although some University Hospitals focus only on a limited area of ophthalmology, in our department, we are trying to set up a system capable of dealing with almost all the different areas within this field, including corneal transplants, cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, and strabismus surgery. We aim at achieving a level above the standard in this field. Our staff members are all highly motivated and enthusiastic. Although the scale of our department is not large, we aim to provide a chance to these young doctors to be skillful experts through training, and endeavor to offer medical treatment of a high standard across the board, thus contributing to community healthcare and advanced medical care in the field of ophthalmology.
